Matt’s Review (From: The Ledge)
OK
Here is what happend. Stevie was on first and sang Landslide during which Sheryl Crow came out and joined her. She was interviewed along with Sheryl and topic discussed included babies, the overnight success of rumours, being an older singer and still peforming. She did tell stories of how during the Rumours tour she and Chris were carfeully watched by the entourage of security guards so they usually just hung out in the hotels, but the guys went off to do who knows what and nothing else was said.
Stevie was the only one who got a sit down interview. All the others just performed and then were briefly spoken too by Oprah.
Joan Jett was next with Miley Cyrus as the surprise guest who sang with her on a medley of her hits.
Salt N’ Peppa was next and they just sang with no surprise guest and Oprah talked to them.
Pat Benetar came after them and sang with Love is A Battlefield with Avril Lavigne.
She was asked about her admiration for Pat and Stevie and she said something about the fact that they followed their dreams and made it in the music world and that it was inspiring etc.
Then the big finale was Sister Sledge singing with almost all of the other guests “We are Family”
The show was over but for an oprah.com exclusive they filmed Stevie Nicks singing Secret Love.
I was the lucky one who got vip reserved seats and a backstage Meet and Greet with Stevie. She gave me two autograph’s as a present one was a standard publicity photo the other a reprint of some Rhiannon drawing with words on the back. She confirmed that she was going to be playing in Glastonbury and looking to play some places that she had not visited in a while. Naturally I asked her to return to Ottawa. While in the back I saw Pat (Who said to my sister Nice Shoes). Sheryl and her baby were mingling as was Sister Sledge. Oprah walked by and shook our hands.
During a break in filming she took questions from the audience and my brother asked her what her first live concert was and she said James Brown in 1968 when she was 14. She remarked how she lost her shoes at the concert and her father was mad.
