February 2012 Updates

February is dedicated to Fleetwood Mac’s award winning, multi-platinum masterpiece Rumours. Released 35 years ago on February 4, 1977 it quickly shot up the charts after the single ‘Go Your Own Way’ b/w ‘Silver Springs’ was released the previous month. Followed by ‘Don’t Stop’ b/w ‘Never Going Back Again’ in April and Stevie’s ‘Dreams’ b/w ‘Songbird’ being set free in June (the group’s only #1 single). The final single released was Christine’s ‘You Make Loving Fun’ b/w ‘Gold Dust Woman’ in September. With constant airplay on radio stations across the country and abroad the band set out on a world wide tour on February 28 which continued until the summer of the following year. In February 1978 the album won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and by March it had sold 10 million copies. Rumours remains the 10th best selling album in the U.S. and continues to rack up sales across the globe.
