July 2012 Updates

The month of July is all about Stevie’s first solo effort Bella Donna. Released on July, 27 1981 it rose to the top of the charts on September 5 that same year in the #1 position. The album produced four hit singles (Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around 7/8/81, Leather and Lace 10/6/81, Edge of Seventeen 2/4/82, After the Glitter Fades 4/30/82) and one official video (Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around). Bella Donna remained on the charts for 143 weeks after its release and reached multi-platinum status several times since October 7, 1981 with 5 million copies on October 13, 2004. The Bella Donna tour of ’81 consisted of eleven dates with five being held at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles where the final nights performance was recorded on December 13, 1981. The end result, ‘In Concert With Stevie Nicks’ premiered April 8, 1982 on HBO. Stevie has stated in several interviews that she never really got to enjoy Bella Donna as she learned of her best friend Robin’s leukemia diagnosis the very day the album went #1.
